Star Trek Spirits, the official spirits brand of the Star Trek franchise, has announced a new collaboration with Stellum Spirits to release two limited edition whiskeys housed in iconic Romulan Ale bottles.
The partnership brings together Stellum Spirits, a contemporary whiskey brand from the award-winning independent blender Barrell Craft Spirits, with the beloved sci-fi franchise for a cosmic-inspired release.
Stellar Inspiration Meets Frontier Spirit
The name Stellum, derived from the Latin word for “star,” aligns perfectly with the Star Trek universe’s space exploration themes. This celestial connection forms the foundation of the collaboration.
Stellum Spirits, which is based in Kentucky, the traditional heartland of bourbon production, brings its stellar expertise to this unique collaboration.
The limited edition release features two expressions: a Blended Rye Whiskey and a Cask Strength Blended Whiskey. Both come packaged in the distinctive Romulan Ale bottle, a recognizable icon from Star Trek lore that was famously outlawed by the United Federation of Planets.

The Blended Rye Whiskey, bottled at 118.02 proof, features a marigold hue with warm aromas of dark brown sugar and toasted almonds. The palate offers layers of star anise, sesame, and almonds, complemented by vibrant notes of dill, apricot, orange peel, and brown sugar.
The Cask Strength Blended Whiskey, at a robust 120.67 proof, presents a warm amber color with an evolving aroma profile. Initial notes of flowery vanilla, orange peel, caramel corn, and mixed peppercorns give way to cedar and smoldering oak. On the palate, charred orange, leather, and floral vanilla mingle with cardamom, cedar, and spiced nuts, finishing with sweet cinnamon.

With only three barrels produced of each expression, these small-batch releases represent a rare opportunity for both Star Trek fans and whiskey enthusiasts.
