I have recently started my whiskey journey and am still in the phase of everything being new. One thing that stood out to me was the amount of glassware options. After searching around I found Norlan and decided to try out some of the glasses to compare against some Glencairn glasses that I picked up.

I ended up grabbing a whisky glass (Vaild) and the two sizes of tumblers they offer in the same Vaild coating option.

They were actually super responsive to all of my messages before my purchase. Answering all of my questions and making me feel like I could make a purchase. They even corrected an issue with a stock matter for me very quickly.

That all changed when my order was delivered. The tumblers had scuffs and issues with the coating out of the box. I sent them an email with pictures to ask about the coating and see if that was normal. Since that email it has been over two weeks of them ignoring that email and all follow up emails. I guess the speed at which they respond (if at all) is dependent on if you have spent your money already or not. Funnily enough if you go on their website some of the reviews mention that they are being ignored with issues so I suppose at least I’m not the only one.

Looks like it’s Glencairns moving forward for me. Hopefully this post helps people to make an informed decision and not make the same mistake as me.

Side question though aside from the standard issue Glencairn is there any of their other offerings that are worth checking out for a newbie?
