WhistlePig Whiskey has officially listed its famed Maple Sugar Shack on Zillow, offering whiskey enthusiasts a chance to own a slice of Vermont distilling heritage for $4.20 million. The announcement came just in time for International Waffle Day, following what the brand describes as “a series of unconventional tenants and property disputes.”

The Sugar Shack, originally secured by Vermont State Troopers in 2024 to protect the state’s maple syrup industry, now returns to market as an operational whiskey lover’s paradise. The property features panoramic Green Mountain views through its waist-to-neck windows, a fully functional Tiki Bar, and even a whiskey-powered cold plunge. The Super Troops have been evicted — left high and dry by the sudden listing.

“At WhistlePig, we don’t just push boundaries, we barrel-age them,” said Distiller Mitch Mahar. “The Sugar Shack is equal parts Vermont tradition, craftsmanship and a darn good time. We figured if the Troopers could stake it out for long enough, it was only fair to pass the keys to the next lucky owner, along with all the syrup shenanigans they can handle.”

Troopers Leave Legacy of Maple-Whiskey Innovation

The Super Troopers’ tenure at the Sugar Shack wasn’t without productivity. The Troopers conducted extensive “research” with WhistlePig’s Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup, ultimately creating signature serves including the Maple Old Fashioned made with PiggyBack Rye.

Actor Jay Chandrasekhar, referencing his role in the comedy “Super Troopers,” commented on the property’s colorful history: “We’ve spent plenty of time at the Sugar Shack, and there are definitely some stories hidden, baked and soaked into those walls. We’re not saying we left any mustache wax behind, but if you find some, you’re welcome. Don’t freak out, man, our shenanigans here were cheeky and fun while we built up the syrup supply. We only chugged as much as was strictly necessary to prove we are all that is man the old fashioned way. There’s plenty to stir up with the heavenly hooch that is WhistlePig’s PiggyBack Rye to make a Maple Old Fashioned.”

The property, built in 2017, combines rustic charm with modern distilling functionality. Features include a state-of-the-art Maplemastic evaporator and wood interiors that reflect Vermont’s traditional craftsmanship.

Virtual Tours and Sweet Incentives for Potential Buyers

Potential buyers can explore the property through Zillow Showcase, offering AI-powered floor plans and immersive virtual tours of the unique space.

Hoping to encourage offers, WhistlePig promises that any bid of $4.20 on the $4.20 million property will result in a complimentary bottle of their Whiskey Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup. The company states that both its Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup and PiggyBack Rye are available through its website and at local retailers.
